Summer on the Missouri River
Beginning in June, we travel to one of the premier wild trout fisheries in the west: the Missouri River outside of Cascade, Montana. We’ve sampled many of Montana’s prized rivers over the years and can say with confidence that the Missouri River trip is a stand-out — a true fly anglers paradise, with over 40 miles of productive water for wild rainbow and brown trout. We have the opportunity to deploy all methods of fly fishing here, from streamers and nymphs to technical dry flies and big foam terrestrials. This tailwater is a trout factory and offers some of the most dynamic wild trout fishing anywhere in the world. During this trip, you will be floating and fishing from drift boats with plenty of opportunities to get out and wade fish. We often refer to the Missouri River as the “Lower Sac” of Montana, with the added benefit of fishing the dry fly with consistency while also catching some beautiful brown trout.

Alaska
August - September
Fall on the Kenai Peninsula
Since August 2014, we’ve traveled north to the Kenai Peninsula every year to chase some of the best freshwater fly fishing in the world. This trip is like none other due to the diversity of fishing you will experience: rainbow trout, dolly varden, silver salmon, sockeye salmon, pink salmon, and even steelhead. Mid-August through early September is prime time for targeting some of the biggest wild rainbow trout in the world, which also coincides with the migration of coho (silver) salmon and the opportunity to catch these fish on the fly. As we move into early September, we also start to see the first pushes of steelhead into the coastal creeks. We’ve designed this trip specifically as a way to bring our clients to Alaska to experience these world-class fisheries at an affordable rate. We’ve had the pleasure of fishing the Kenai Peninsula a number of times now with Lee Kuepper of Double Haul Fly Fishing and his network of fly fishing guides, who know the area better than anyone else. They’re determined to ensure you’re successful in learning the techniques it takes to catch these fish.

Louisiana December
Bayou Spot and Stalk
Since 2014, we’ve made our way down to southern Louisiana to chase the giant bull redfish that move into the shallow marshes for winter. We’ve had some exceptionally good fishing over the years with our good friend Captain Hunter Hutchinson and his crew of guides.
All of the fishing on this trip is sight fishing from an elevated platform on a flat skiff. The visual aspect of watching these redfish aggressively push baitfish, shrimp, and crabs around in shallow water can make your paws shake prior to delivering your cast. It’s some of the most fun we’ve had with a fly rod in hand. Be aware that since this type of flats fishing is 100% visual, good conditions are directly correlated with plentiful opportunities for good fishing. If the weather is dark and windy, it can make this endeavor a bit more challenging.

Belize May
Flats Fishing in Northern Belize
After spending many years exploring and sampling some of the world’s top saltwater fly fishing destinations, we have finally settled on “Northern Belize in Drowned Cayes.” This trip encompasses everything that an angler could want in a saltwater fly fishing trip. We have experienced some great saltwater fisheries over the years but this trip stands out for a few main reasons. First of all, the diversity of fishing that is available in the part of Belize is second to none. The accommodations on a private 2-acre island are special and unique. The guides that we fish with all work very closely together and have a brother-like bond – very similar to how we operate as a guide crew in Northern California. The travel to get here is relatively easy compared to most destinations in the world.
