After a long, wet winter, Spring is finally in the air and the time for some of the best California fly fishing has arrived. The flows on the Lower Sacramento River have subsided. We’re currently sitting at 6k cfs and slowly dropping to 4,200 by the middle of next week. We expect them to stay here through April.. as these lower flows stabilize, we are expecting the hatches to get going. The recent flow fluctuations have stalled the hatches a bit but we are very excited for stable flows to encourage the bugs to get going and the trout to get even more aggressive in their feeding behavior. PMDs, Caddis and Sallies will all be on the Menu from now through early June. We’ve wrapped up our steelhead season and it’s full steam ahead with the best California fly fishing there is!
